Apart from that, the first thing that comes to mind is using Emmet for the situations where you want this behaviour though. There are some built in ways to accomplish auto numbering, such as the Arithmetic command which you can find in the command palette. If that package is providing a snippet that expands out multiple sections but it’s doing it in a way where you edit them all simultaneously, that seems like an indication that the snippet it’s inserting is either not setting up fields correctly or assuming that in most cases you want to edit them all in the same way.
